What is CrystalVault?
The crystal collection app built for collecting — not identifying.
CrystalVault is an iPhone and iPad app for cataloging the crystals you own. Pick each stone from a built-in catalog of 278 crystals, add your own photo, give it a vibe rating, record what you paid and what it's worth, and watch your shelf become a dark, gallery-style vault. It's free to start, Pro is a one-time $2.99, and there's no account, no subscription and no internet required.
Most crystal apps on the App Store are AI photo identifiers sold by weekly subscription, with a collection list added on the side. CrystalVault turns that around: the collection is the whole app.

How it works
From new stone to logged specimen in under a minute.
Find it
Search the catalog or filter by color and chakra until you see your crystal.
Photograph it
Snap it with the camera or pick a photo from your library — your specimen, not a stock image.
Vault it
Add a vibe rating, price, where you bought it, value and notes. It joins your gallery instantly.
Why it's different
CrystalVault vs. crystal identifier apps.
Identifier apps answer “what is this rock?”. CrystalVault answers “what do I own, where is it, and what is it worth?” — many collectors use both.

Questions
Frequently asked.
What is the best app to keep track of a crystal collection?
CrystalVault (iPhone and iPad) is built specifically for managing a crystal collection rather than identifying stones. You pick each crystal from a pre-loaded catalog of 278 crystals, add your own photo, a 1–5 vibe rating, price, value, notes and storage location, and see your whole collection as a photo gallery with total value and statistics. It's free to start, Pro is a $2.99 one-time purchase, and it works offline without an account.
Is there a crystal collection app without a subscription?
Yes. CrystalVault has no subscription. The free version includes the full catalog, the wishlist and up to 10 specimens. CrystalVault Pro is a single $2.99 lifetime purchase that unlocks unlimited specimens, Vault Insights, CSV export and watermark-free sharing.
Does CrystalVault identify crystals from a photo?
No — deliberately. CrystalVault is a collection manager, not an AI identifier. You choose the crystal from the searchable catalog (filter by color, chakra, rarity, family or hardness) and attach your own photo. If you need an ID, use an identifier app first, then log the stone in CrystalVault.
Does it work offline and without an account?
Yes. There's no login, no sign-up and no server. The catalog is built into the app and your collection, photos and notes are stored on your device, so it works anywhere — including at gem shows with no signal.
Can I track what my crystal collection is worth?
Yes. Each specimen stores purchase price, date, where you bought it and a current value. The vault shows total collection value and your rarest find, and Pro exports everything to CSV for insurance records or backups.
Which crystals are in the catalog?
278 crystals across 15 mineral families — from amethyst, rose quartz, citrine, clear quartz and labradorite to alexandrite, moldavite and sugilite. Each lists formula, Mohs hardness, colors, rarity, localities, chakras and traditional associations. See the full list.
Can I add a crystal that isn't in the catalog?
Yes. Create a personal catalog entry for any stone, tumble, carving or locality specimen and add it to your vault with its own photo and details.
Are the crystal photos AI-generated?
No. Catalog images are real specimen photographs, mostly from the Smithsonian's open-access mineral collection and Wikimedia Commons (public domain or openly licensed), with credits in the app. Photos in your vault are the ones you take yourself.
Is CrystalVault on Android?
Not currently. CrystalVault is available for iPhone and iPad on iOS / iPadOS 17 or later.
